Sport Haven is made up of three great guys and one chick. We would have referred to her as a woman, but she insisted on being called a chick. Just wanted to let you know that before anyone got upset.

• Paul S. Petro is a life-long resident of Las Vegas, Nevada (though he has traveled extensively, though sometimes not of his own free will). He attended the University of Las Vegas from 1989 to 1993, after which he took a succession of jobs (each better than the last) in the gaming and hospitality industry. Among those was his tenure at the sportsbook of the legendary Thunderbird Casino, which spoiled him for anything but sports betting for the rest of his natural life.

• David “Racer X” Golecki, on the other hand, only came to Las Vegas in the last few years. Before that, he’d been pretty happy living in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was an assistant professor of Romance languages at the prestigious Boston Institute of Arts and Sciences. Needless to say, he was fired for conduct unbecoming a snooty academic when the campus pigs busted up his rotating poker game.

• Dianne Golecki was not too happy with this turn of events, but was pretty sick of the gloomy Boston weather and ready to head west like so many before her. As David’s wife, she figured she’d earned a little sunshine (not to mention the opportunity to play at a real-life online casino USA). Not for nothing, but she’s also a three-time runner-up in the National Women’s Semifinals and one heck of an accountant.

• Brian Peter Wayward is the guy writing all of this crap. He’s a little uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person, but it beats saying “we” all the time like he’s done throughout these pages. Mr. Wayward has a Master’s degree in Renaissance Gaming (specializing in online slots) and a minor in forty-ninor (not funny). And together, this mismatched band of rag-tag makeshifts form Team Sport Haven!
